The Emotions Game: Talk, Play, Connect.
Talking to kids about emotions is really important to help them build their emotional regulation skills, but sometimes knowing what to say can be confusing.
These cards make it really simple and fun! They are designed to be printed with a picture on one side and a question on the other. You lay them down as a game of memory and finding the matching pictures - then when you find a match you choose which feeling question to answer. I’ve played this game with kids as young as 3 and as old as 12 - and they’ve all told me they had fun and wanted to play again! Having fun while building skills and talking with young people about how they feel is a massive win!
Emotion conversations made easy ✨
NB: these cards are designed to be printed back to back :) A physical deck will be available in store soon in limited numbers, so if you’d prefer a physical product stay tuned!

More Information: How These Cards Help
Helping children develop emotional awareness is one of the most powerful foundations for emotional regulation.
When children learn to name, describe, and explore their feelings — even in playful ways — they become better equipped to understand and manage big emotions when they happen.
These conversation cards are designed to gently build that awareness through:
Naming emotions: Giving a feeling a name can reduce overwhelm and help children feel seen and understood.
Body connection: Noticing where emotions show up in the body helps children recognise early signs of anger, worry, or excitement before they get too big.
Symbolic thinking: Exploring emotions through colour, animal, weather, or facial expressions strengthens emotional vocabulary and makes abstract feelings more concrete.
Everyday conversations: Practising these chats during calm moments builds emotional confidence and helps children feel safe to open up.
There’s no right or wrong way to use the cards. What matters most is being present, curious, and open. When kids see that all feelings are okay — and that you’re willing to listen — they begin to learn that emotions can be felt, expressed, and moved through gently.
Whether you’re cuddled on the couch, chatting over dinner, or playing a matching game, every little moment of connection helps.
